How to walk in heels for hours with no pain?
I love my few pairs of heels I own, but I always chicken out to wear them if I go on my own anywhere, even down to the shop. I feel like i will trip and fall down and what not, so I always go back to my flat ended shoes.
Whenever I go with my mother, and she takes the car, yeah I'll wear heels, because I wont be doing much walking.
I'm a short girl 5'1. I don't know if it looks funny or what when I wear heels, is it because of my height?
Also I can't wear shoes with a heel for hours, because it gets so sore! How can i make them less sore on me? Maybe im scared of the heel because im only going to be 17?
Im a little fashion mess lol
Any advice ???

the key is practice, put your shoes on while you're at home and just walk around while wearing them so you can really break them in, and once you're used to them your feet won't get so sore so fast. i'm still in the breaking in process of my new boots since i have to walk 2,1 kilometers from my university to home -.-, but it's gotten more comfortable, so i'm sure it'll get better with practice

I think you should start wearing heels that are less high and then gradually increase the height of the heels.
and when you buy a new pair indeed walk them in... But it helps alot when you're used to wear heels.

Yeah breaking them in definitely helps so you get practice and the shoe molds to your foot better. You can also buy insoles like Dr.Scholls shoe inserts that make things way more comfortable. Oh and you can try allthatglitters21's trick of Vaseline on the heel of your foot where the shoe meets to prevent any blisters.

I always pick heels that have a lot of space around the toes and balls of the feet.
That area takes the most impact, and its important to get a shoe thats comfortable around that place.
Keep your legs straight and maintain a straight posture when you walk. You'll have better balance with your weight focused in a straight line. It also gives you better control over your stride.
Don't bend your knees or hunch over. Doing so throws will unevenly distribute your weight, and hinder your control. You'll have a higher risk of tripping.

I find those gel insoles for heels help (especially for the balls of your feet where most of the weight is supported by). I used to use them quite frequently for formal events where I had to wear heels for long periods of time.
Also, the type of heel plays a big factor.. Skinner heels are harder to walk in IMO, and a chunkier heel is much easier to walk around in for long periods of time.

Yeah you should really go from low to sky high, platform pumps are also easier on your feet.

Tips & Tricks
1. Start With Kitten Heels, break them in when you get them by walking around the house and start wearing them out.

2. When you move on past Kitten Heels keep the height of your heels to 2 inches to 3.5 inches, again break them in, walk around the house, and start wearing them out. Look into wedges and chunky heels, their drops (the slop from the heel to the toe) is usually less severe so they are more stable and comfortable to walk in.

3. And once you feel more comfortable start trying out 4 inches to 5 inches, most women don't go higher than that, if you want to for a special occasion or costume make sure you repeat the steps above.
& Make These Your Friends:

If your heel (as in your foot) begins to get rubbed raw you apply some of this and it's like magic, better than an actual bandaid on your heel.
I always keep it in my purse.
When you just can't take it anymore, pop out these bad boys.

I like heels & booties but I don't have the confidence to buy them- much less wear them.
I guess I'm not all that and a bag of chips.
I don't think they would look funny on you because heels are made to elongate your legs,
so I'm sure your height is fine. Like I said I don't wear heels, so maybe my advice is useless
but I think you should practice a bit and wear those shoe insert things.

I am crazy about high heels too. But because I love them so much, I can go anywhere with them. Maybe it is difficult for a beginner, more practice, more confidence, but the first thing is that you must fall in love with them. At the beginning, wear the shoes with heels not so high. When you get used to it and walk smoothly, change higher heels and you will walk longer with them.

Little known fact: High Heels are bad for you.
I know we see them worn a lot in the media and women wear them as if they don't hurt but I'd probably be more concerned if they didn't hurt. Basically they are going to hurt no matter what, which is why if you wear them you shouldn't for long because if you do then you will likely have lasting damage. I have bunions, Heels aggravate them so I don't wear them much. If I do I have insoles and spacers I wear with them. Dr.Sholl's makes some that are specifically for high heels

I don't wear heels very often, so I have no advice, but I wanted to bring something up about the height thing, being 5 ft 1 myself.
I am sure there is a die-hard little monster on here somewhere who might say I am wrong, but I am fairly certain that Lady Gaga is only 5 ft 1 too. Think about that next time you think you look stupid in your heels.
