Re: Is Glamour Doll Eyes Safe?
Doesn't matter... I bought some samples a long time ago and they were CRAP! Don't buy them! They did become a paste with water, so the ones I got were safe, but the color was gone in an hour! They weren't even that bright either. When one of their many sponsored girls (you have to apply to be one wtf) does a video, of course its gonna look nice, but they don't show you how long it lasts!

GDE is safe!
Yes, Glamour Doll Eyes is completely safe. They are FDA approved. It says so on their site.
The whole "dissolving in water" thing doesn't make something not makeup. The demonstration using the Bitch Slap pigment was an example of how the pigment (which I think was some sort of powdered paint from Crayola, LMAO) instantly turned the water blue like some sort of dye. Pretty much ANY powder substance is going to dissolve in water to some degree usually with some stirring required however.
And of course you have to apply to be a sponsored girl. Would you just give away $36 dollars worth of eyeshadow to anyone that asked if you were running a business? You'd lose a TON of money that way. I've never experienced any problems with them staying on. Using a good primer and base like a NYX Jumbo pencil helps. Plus Vee, the owner and maker of GDE has reformulated a lot of the shadows so they're better now since you say you tried them a long time ago. I'm pretty sure every company goes though changes, (reformulations and so on). Even since you didn't like them, they're pretty much dirt cheap unlike Bitch Slap who buys their shit from another company, slaps a trashy label on it and sells it for like 10 times more than it's worth. Ugh.
The only dislikes I have with GDE is that some of the matte colors can be hard to blend, but overall I think they're quite good for being a self run company by one woman. Great customer service as well. If you have any problems with the product Vee always replies unlike some other brands out there.
I hope that cleared things up!

GDE is safe........read on
I personally use the shadows and xxpandafacexx is correct about the water dissolving, makeup vs weather it is paint or makeup thing. I am pretty sure that "other" makeup company you are talking about that was using NON FDA approved makeup was Bitchslap. I was also under the impression that BS cosmetics is no more as they were caught repackaging and it pissed people off. Allot! Especially when BS's distributor was disclosed.
Now, let's get this water vs pigment vs paint thing straightened out. Here are two videos that Koren from EnKore Makeup put out about the whole paint/water/mixing thing. It is very detailed and concise. Watch them in order and lean a thing about colorants vs pigments.

I personally use GDE and I find that the eye shadows last me all day when I use a good primer and base. Also, I usually prefer to use the foiling method with my mineral eye shadows anyway. It just lasts longer and is more vibrant.
