California Cheerleaders DEVESTATED over mini skirt ban.
Click here to read the most tragic story to ever grace these United States.
It's like communism ALL OVER AGAIN. These poor, poor cheerleaders in California are forced to wear sweat pants underneath their cheer uniforms because they barely meet dress code. For reference, here's the picture in the article:

What are they talking about!? Those uniforms are SOOO cute and appropriate. The cheerleaders are floored, they feel like "outcasts", and they have the right to wear their school colors! All over the country schools are banning these girls from showing their "spirit" and it is an atrocity. I say we start an anti-anti-mini ban coalition against the banning of mini skirts! Vive la revolution!
this was written entirely in sarcasm. if you don't get it, feel free to leave a remark about how stupid i am and how i should be ashamed that i think these girls should be wearing mini skirts. if you do get it, vive la revolution!

Dammit, where was this ban when I was playing softball?
My legs are STILL scarred from trying to slide.

Since I still participate in cheer I was actually just talking about this with a teammate of mine.
In high school we were never allowed to wear our uniforms to school because they didn't follow the dress code. We had to wear warmups which didn't bother us because it was much more comfortable that way.
I don't see the big deal and I am a cheerleader. Some of the new stories that make it out there on the internet and TV really make our sport look like a joke. ugh now that is the tragedy.

Chrissy, you are such an idiot.
At my school the girls weren't allowed to wear their skirts to school because they didn't meet dress code and others complained. (mostly due to one cheerleader wearing a thong under hers and let's just say by the end of the day people knew the color and pattern and all the such of her undergarments.
All I know is that the girl's tennis team had to meet dress requirements for their skirts/shorts, so why couldn't the cheerleaders? I kind of find it almost pervy that school's often pick out skirts that are a bit too short. I understand that knee length skirts would get in the way (not at my school because they weren't allowed to do stunts, but still) but having them a few inches longer isn't going to hurt anyone.

All the girls in my school wore their uniforms with sweats underneath them. I never heard of any of them griping about it, because wouldn't it be more comfortable that way? I just feel like day-to-day that cheerleading uniforms aren't practical, like sitting in seats all day. And bending over. Eeep.

That makes me think of the head cheerleader of my class getting kicked off the team because she handed out naughty pictures of herself in the uniform with no undies or bloomers underneath.
Our cheerleaders were hoe-bags.

Yea, the thong girl was being pretty nonchalant when bending down to tie her shoes and the whatnot.
It's girls like this that make cheerleaders look bad.
But then there's plenty of great cheerleaders, but the bad ones just get more of the attention. Shame really. I have quite a few friends who never did anything like that, but ask anyone from my school and they'll remember thong girl above any of the others.

YIKES!I never got the concept of cheerleaders, but being in Australia they dont have high school cheerleaders only pressional ones for the NRL (national rugby league) and they wear shorts instead. But i have seen/heard/read about cheerleaders within American highshools and its supposedly a big honour to be made one? (correct me if I am wrong)

All of our cheerleaders were pretty memorable.
It was like the misfits of the cheer-leading world all came together to make one team.
We had porn-picture girl, girl who was a little too big to fit into her top and split it during a basket toss (exposing the fact that she likes to cheer bra-less), anorexic girl, girl who got arrested after the drug dog sat in front of her locker, and the weird goth one who tried out as a joke.

Sweatpants under a uniform looks AWKFUL. Not sure why they can't just all guy a few shirts made to wear with jeans or a warm up.
The girl wore a thong under with no briefs on top???
Why in the world would she do that. That is why I like the shirts that have the built in briefs lol
It feels weird for me to talk about cheer on here ha.

High school cheerleading is really a joke in most areas throughout the US, but in the southern states it is a big deal because many compete. I actually did high school, college, and all star cheer and competed in all of it. Competitve teams are more then just girls who stand on the sidelines and say rah rah.
Cheerleading internationally is growing. I have met all star cheerleaders from all of the world at a competition we have at the end of the year. The teams from other countries tend to be much more conservative then the US teams.
Hope that sort of clears it up for you.

Yeah, don't base cheer-leading off of my school.
My high school was a joke for just about everything.

DO NOT base it off of movies. I actually have friends that were in the Bring It On movies and they were hired on to cheer for the movies. Most of those things are illegal at the high school level.
I will send you some videos of US teams and a few International teams via PM so you can get a better judgement of what the actual sport of cheer is like.

Sweet, Thanks!
I get the feeling cheerleading is a lot more athletic then the movies/media/highschool portrays it to be and requires the skills of a athlete with gymnastic skills

I don't care much for cheerleading since I think it's a "sport" only practiced in the US, but here, I went to a catholic high school and we were allowed to wear whatever we wanted during sports as long as we were with girls only, outside the girl-only activity, we were subjected to a strict dress code, no make up and certain colors were forbidden as well, still, it helped a lot of the girls i believe to turn into ladies.
I'm 23 yrs old now and i wear mini skirts, but i know how to wear them and in which context and i think it's better to keep these out of school, cheerleaders are already seen as sexual objects in popular culture (from what i see in the movies), it would be extremely dangerous to put any girl in that kind of clothing and serve her to teen's raging hormones...

Re: California Cheerleaders DEVESTATED over mini skirt ban.
The cheerleaders at my school ALWAYS had to wear sweats under their uniforms during school so they didn't break the dress code. None of them ever complained about it...sometimes they just wore the team sweats without the skirt since it was more comfortable that way. The skirts were short, but during games and competitions they had to wear spandexy shorts under the skirts to keep their undergarmets from showing. Even wearing the sweats, they still wore the school colors since the sweats were usually custom made for the team.
They feel like "outcasts"? LMAO wtf? I'd hate to see how they'd handle REALLY being made an outcast. I can't wait to see these girls enter the real world...it's gonna be sad. I think they're just mad that they can't walk around with their asses hanging out.
