Well, what do you guys think?

I thought she looked nice in the vid, and the vid was informative.

I really liked this one. Its both beauty and school related, so theres something for pretty much everyone. I thought she looked nice and spoke well. The glitzy glam mention also was not the main point of the video. She gave nice details to move her story along without being as annoyingly pointless and rambly as Blair. I also appriciated that she used mostly drug store products.

Of course she would be promoting the dry shampoo. -___- she didn't even say if she was being compensated for that, but she says in her FTC that she's affiliated...

Yeah the whole promoting the dry shampoo was really annoying. It was one of those videos that could have been great if she was just being real and honest but her advice is obviously bias.

I like her back to school videos so far. They're informative. The sororrity one makes me want to be in one now, haha. And as much as I dislike they're sponsored videos, lets be real, if you got the chance to get paid to mention something in a video you would probably do it. Plus, at least this one was actually helpful, instead of her just shoving products in our faces.

Eh, I thought her personality was a little bit fake - I don't like those silly voices she uses. Other than that, she had some good tips. I never needed to tote around that many products when I was living in a dorm, but I'm guessing most of her subscribers are more into beauty products than I am. I just needed one caddy and then did my hair in my room, since I didn't use any heat tools. Also, her caddy is huge! Sometimes you'll have to walk up a flight of stairs to get to the shower (while holding a towel around you and such), and it's really inconvenient to carry around that many things. I'm not sure what she's using, but all I needed for the shower was body wash, a loofah, conditioner, shaving cream, and a razor, and a comb. Again, I'm not all that into using a ton of products, so that could just be me.

Agreed. I think her tips were helpful. Even if she is promoting some products, at least most of it's stuff I can actually buy from a Walmart on my budget.

Well I'm gonna give her the benefit of the doubt. Maybe she really likes the dry shampoo. Not every product that she is affiliated with has to be something she hates.

Anyway the vid is cute had some helpful tips and wasn't boring. Actually she seemed pretty excited about making the video which is nice. I liked it. Hmm.

Well she does wash her hair every other day and takes care of it like it's gold, I wouldn't expect to see her use a dry shampoo that often. But maybe on occasion.

I happen to have the regular dry shampoo from tresemme and it's good, but all dry shampoos are pretty much equal. But this ones cheap.

When it comes to her and Blair, I trust things they used in their earlier videos because back then, they were honest about everything. I believe she uses it - the occasional sponsored product doesn't bother me, especially if it's obvious she's used it for a long time. The only thing is that I can never take their hair product recommendations because I follow the CurlyGirl method, so I can't use most of what they do anyway.

I love the fact that she's had the college experience. So much cooler compared to Blair, whom I consider a total airhead with the mental capacity of a spoon.

I like this series. I usually like Elle's videos. In general. I don't look at her as a beauty guru , but more as someone cool who is pretty entertainer and shares her own experiences and just rambles about. It's like when you meet someone with a different background from you and you are really interested in what they have t say. To me, Elle is like that ...

I really hope she stays like this! It would truly be upsetting if she returned to her money hungry state. I'm not trying to kiss ass to her, but if she keeps this up, her subscribers would really appreciate it more.

I still think Elle does a lot of things for the money. (For example the blog and her phone cases.) But what I'm loving lately is that Elle is actually listening to her subscribers. I used to watch her back in the day until the sponsored posts got overwhelming. I commented that I was disappointed she was acting too much like her little sister, everything was sponsored, and she seemed fake, so I wasn't watching her videos anymore. Of course comments were on approval, so that didn't get posted. But I think a lot of her viewers felt the same way. Somehow she got the picture and I see she's made a lot of changes with her videos. She's still trying to make a living off of Youtube, but at least she's posting about things she likes and isn't trying to be someone she's not. That was driving me nuts and I'm sure everyone noticed it.

Sorry, not meaning to move away from the topic of Elle's video, but what is the CurlyGirl method? I have curly hair so naturally I was kind of interested...

Not sure if there's more than one method, but here's a link: http://www.wikihow.com/Follow-the-Curly-Girl-Method-for-Curly-Hair

Basically co-washing. You wash with conditioner instead of shampoo because shampoo dries out your hair and causes frizz.

I liked that her makeup was more subtle; I hate when she overdoes it with glittery eye shadow, I think it looks tacky! She looks better with this more natural look. I'm going to forward it to my sister who is a college freshmen.

I'm pretty sure she is still doing it for the money. She is just doing it WELL.

Most of us only do our jobs for the money. The important thing is to do it WELL! And for that I commend her, because I haven't tuned into her channel in a while but this was better than the last few videos I've seen for sure.

This was definitely my favourite video. Although, the dry shampoo sucks. I have it and hate it. But I noticed she never really went crazy over it, she wasnt exactly raving about it. But other than that her personality really made me happy Razz

I think Elle's make-up in her School Glitz series has been really flattering. For once, she actually looks her age and without all the heavy eye make-up she looks pretty. I think this series has been really good because it's such a relateable topic and she's seemed super down to earth in them. She obviously misses college, though.

Yup, that's it! I actually do use shampoo once a week or once every two weeks, but it's CG-friendly. I have psoriasis, and the only thing that seems to help is tea tree oil shampoo. Anything that doesn't have silicones, sulphates, or drying alcohols is fair game.

If anyone is interested, here is a good product list that I refer to: http://curlgirljourney.blogspot.com/2008/12/curly-girl-method-approved-products.html Also, waterlily716 on YouTube is where I learned about the CG method. I have a total online crush on her. Best. Hair. Ever.

i totally agree with ^^^
She's gotten a lot more support, as well basically because of all the hate blair has been getting with all of the sponsored videos.
I also think that she's realized why blair has gotten all this hate, and is basically just
"BACK AWAY SLOWLY".. avoiding it
