Megan or Bethany?

(yes i know i already posted this post in the Topic called Megan's House but i thought it would be a good Topic to start..we all dont really like Megan in the first place but would we prefer her over bethany? or bethany over her? gimme your thoughts!)

i like bethany a lot more than megan basically cuz bethany does not come off as much of a bragger as megan does...megan broadcasts her life (which im not saying is just HORRIBLE) but it really does seem like bragging to me which is such a huge turn off in what im looking for when i sub to a guru..not even elle and blair brag as much as megan does because they dont make videos with their boyfriends ALL THE TIME (yes they do have bfs) and bethany hardly ever hauls as she said in her recent haul video..the thing i love about these other beauty gurus that i dont love about megan is they make videos about what we are there to see.. BEAUTY. make up tutorials, hair stuff, all that..and YESSS i know megan does as well..but just as much as she makes those..shes making ones just kinda almost showing off her life..i hope you can get what im trying to say haha but i just feel like megan puts herself out there too much and should just deal with the consequences..she is def not the only guru who reads their topics...but she practically is the only one who goes crazy over it and is making videos about it and calling her parents about it and everything..and I HOPE MEGAN SEES THIS i mean there has been MUCH MUCH MUCH worse said things on here about other gurus and they aren't obsessing over it (making vids, twitter posts, or fb posts) my point: i feel like she is bringing wayy too much attention upon herself by going insane over all of this..which is making us more annoyed and giving us more to talk about... JUST IGNORE IT and stop giving us stuff to talk about!

-Bearable
-Beautifuler
-Nicer
-Cuter <3

I dislike both, but I can actually sit through Megan's videos. I have yet to be able to watch the entirety of Bethany's videos. She seems like such an airhead when she speaks and constantly has to reiterate on what she says. I think Bethany's tuts are a little better, though. I really like her fashion videos. They're a LOT more age-appropriate and super cute. Megan's clothes are just too old and look...bad on her.

I can most definitely agree with this comment! I mean, I do like watching both girls' videos although some I can't stand to sit through. Bethany seems much more true-to-age then Megan however and I also feel that Megan wears clothes that are too "old" for her age! I mean, at 15 years old, I was strutting around dressed like an average teenager - hoodies, jeans, runners/ sandals/ boots withOUT heels, chunky fun jewelry. I enjoyed being a kid for gosh sakes! She's trying to mature/ grow up way too fast for her own good.. I wish she'd just let loose and have some fun. Maybe tone down the fancy dressy looks and be casual - chic instead:)

Personally I enjoy both gurus. I think Bethany's fashion videos are fun and innovative (particularly her DIY/sprucing up boring looks vids), but I love Megan's fashion sense. I don't see anything wrong with trying to act mature. I don't see how her dressing more maturely and less like a teenager is a bad thing. If anything I think she's very well-dressed and classier/more sophisticated than girls her age. The only problem I have with Megan is that she is allowing negativity/haters dictate her videos (dedicating an entire video to blogs/forums that focus on hate and the troll at the end of one of hers and Justin's videos). She's only 15 years old and most people haven't had to deal with hundreds of people posting rumors/horrible things about you on the Internet, so I think it's udnerstandable that she didn't conduct herself in a truly adult manner. She isn't an adult. I do admire her though for trying to behave in the classiest manner despite everything.

I like Bethany however I am not really into her style. I like how she's starting to expand, for example her summerdaze series, I like the video she did about the popsicle. I do prefer Megan's style and some of her beauty videos. However she is a bit dramatic about certain issues. I think Bethany handles drama very well and she seems like a genuinely nice girl.

I don't know if this makes sense or not, but, I like Bethany's personality more but Megan's videos more. Bethany is a nice girl, but...I don't know. I don't really like her fashion sense that much. My fashion is more like Megan's, I guess. I also really like her hair tutorials, some of her makeup tutorials, and of course her clothing hauls because some of the stuff she buys is just to die for. She got me into that Asos store, as well as Wildfox Couture. But Megan's personality is just...eh.

I used to really like Megan, I started watching her around the 'mean girls' video (usually I like to watch more of the professional gurus like pixiwoo) but i just liked her personality so i carried on watching. I have never really found any of Megan's tutorials helpful (either they were all hauls or the neutral eye makeup) but lately i like her less and less. Especially cause of things like the 'I'm ugly' vid, her style choices and how she's changed.

I like Bethany, i find her more helpful than Megan and more upbeat.

But I'll stick to getting makeup/hair tips from pixiwoo and LetsMakeitUp1

On the other hand, I really like Megan, she's really pretty, and even if she may not be so nice as she makes herself seem, I'd rather see a fake nice person than a real bitchy girl. I think it's nice she "hides" her "true personality" under niceness. Again, it's all IMO.

I just wonder. Why are Megan and Bethany always compared? Why only these two? Why not with someone else?

i compare them because they are the basically the only two 15 year old (freshman) beauty gurus that are "big" ex: (over 150,000 subscribers)

I think she's pretty. She reminds me of one of those younger Kardashian girls...




But I don't know if it's just me, but her thumbnails for most of her videos just annoy the hell out of me. They're always of her like...holding shit up and doing this obnoxious smile

I think they are compared because they are the "biggest" in teen beauty community. They are very different, and appeal to different people. Which I think is great.

I watch both there videos but Megan just annoyed me over how she reacts to drama, Bethany is so upbeat and i just love her, shes kind of immature but I still love watching her videos. I love her clothing videos, shes so creative when it comes to editing and stuff. I wish Bethany talked about her life more on her vlog channel i understand if she didnt want to put her life on the internet thats fair enough but I think it would be good if shes involved her friends and stuff in her videos.

I like Bethany more lately. Megan just annoys me. The only thing I don't like about Bethany is her voice, but I can live through it.

Oh, can someone please explain the whole fight between Megan and Bethany. I heard they got into it, but what was it about? I just recently started watching Megan. Maybe a month or so?

Bethany doesn't talk about boyfriends or friends because she doesn't have a boyfriend. I actually like to hear all about Megan's drama and life and boyfriend and friends and the advice from the people from their school and her sister and all that. And the drama between Bethany and Megan was that Bethany told Megan not to come to her Forever21 meetup so that she didn't upstage Bethany. Bethany also told some of the other well-known gurus not to come. I think Bethany and Megan are totally different. It is evident on Bethany's fanpage that her followers are way younger than Megan's. And I agree with the other person, they are compared because there is no one else in the 15 yr old age range with subscriber counts like theirs.

I never heard anything about that but I read on this site that the security guards asked Megan was she hear for the meetup and Megan said 'ewww no' but apparently Megan said 'ohhh noo' Bethany just heard wrong. There was screenshots on this forum (sorry i can remember where exactly) of Megan saying that she never said that, Bethany also posted a a tweet about it.

I found bethany to be pretty damn boring. She is probably cool in real life and all that jazz, but she isn't captivating enough on videos. Never been so bored when watching youtube videos in my life and I watch some boring stuff. Haha.

Hopefully she doesn't come on to this forum, wouldn't be nice to read but thats just what I felt. Maybe she feels she needs to be all serious because of the topics she is discussing, but she could liven up the atmosphere a bit. Make herself look ......more interesting.?

another thing that i also wanted to say is that i feel bethany handles drama a LOT better than megan...as soon as that little incident with megan and bethany happened (megan saying bethany copied her video), bethany hardly (if at all) said anything about it and just simply blocked megan..bethany didnt answer any comments about it on the video or anything...megan was answering a bunch of comments on her video addressing the topic and bethany just did the mature thing and let it go..she didnt drag it out more than it had to be. and as soon as that was done megan made that tag video what i love about YOU tag..which to me also kinda seemed like it was bringing more attention about what happened..idk maybe thats just me. but, sometimes i feel like megan just brings things out too far..just let it go sometimes..its fiiine!
