"Elle" Fowler's "millions of fans"

Did anyone go to her meetup oops I mean "appearance" at the grove? To my understanding she didn't post photos of it because of an embarrassingly low turnout! Weren't there throngs of her millions and millions of fans stampeding each other to get her autograph? Last time I checked her videos got on average maybe 150k views and MAYBE that many people know who she is but I must be smoking something since apparently she has billions of fans lol someone fill me in? But yeah she DEFINITELY is the more down to earth of the two, and doesn't take herself wayyyy too seriously at ALL! rofl wow she is delusional!

PS to anyone who was doubting the fact that these girls have JAM PACKED days, I think I just proved you wrong! Their days are just filled with doing makeup and styling hair and "making appearances"! I really think I must need a life, I'll never be THAT busy in one day and to think it only takes me 15 minutes to do my makeup, I'm such a loser hahahahaaaaaaaaaa

To be fair, she wasn't the one who said she had millions of fans, but it's still laughable. She doesn't even have a million subscribers, and I'm sure that half of them subscribed based on liking one video and never watched her again and forgot to unsubscribe. The amount of views she gets is telling of how many "fans" she has, and watching a video doesn't make you a fan in the first place.

I was there, and actually she had quite a big turn out. bigger than i thought anyway cause i thought no one would go. i didnt go up to her though, but she did have a lot of media and stuff around her as well.

Wow. Her comments about how she has to be so "on" for her videos that she needs to decompress after... um, what? Aren't you trying to be a socialite and ~famous~ makeup artist? To be fair, if Elle DOES have some degree of social anxiety, it would be REALLY draining for her to even have just one meeting a day and then have to film, but the way she passes this nonsense off as hard work is so ridiculous. She gets 6 hours of sleep every night because she's so "busy" putting on makeup? I takes her an hour and a half to get ready, not counting the hour she spends filming the rest of her makeup routine. WTF?

that doesn't even sound like her - she doesn't act like that. I was there too but i went up and hugged her and she was nice and stuff but normal. I bet the interview was a bit twisted, normally they are.

i love how she calls this work..all she does is get ready like every other girl does and sit and make a video, wow what a tiring day! I love how she says she gets one night in, but if you ever read her twitter all she does is sit at home with her cat. She never seems to go out or do anything in LA other than their super important meetings. Where are these appearances? what once a month if her agent can come up with something? This girls tries so hard to act like she's important or famous and she's not. That article was just full of plugs to the sponsored brands.

I imagine a crowd was at the grove, just as a spectacle. The place attracts a ton of tourists and if they think it's someone famous people will gravitate, and half the time it's people from out of the country and they have no idea who it is but will take a pictures anyway.

Oh my god, she gets paid a lot of money to sit on her ass and put on makeup. Her life must be so hard.

But anyway I completely agree with everyone yeah there might have been a crowd but every single time I go to the grove there are tons of people there because it's amazing! Also, the tour was sponsored by Schick which they were clearly promoting on their websites and all other forms of social media, Lisa only had a small part in it! I can't imagine who would want to go to a Lisa meetup with no "Blair"...

This girl is truly living in a bubble. In what alternate universe does hours of primping and talking about yourself equate to work?! I won't knock the girl for living a leisurely lifestyle- afterall, many people would love to not have to go to a job and bust their ass for a living. But for Heaven's sake, admit that what you do is not tiring! She should acknowledge that what she gets to do is a luxury. She clearly has a lot of free time on her hands. She should try volunteering or taking up a hobby that is not beauty realted. For instance, today she went to lunch and then sat at the pool all day (her words, not mine... twitter). She pushed her video to tomorrow- because we all know how time consuming and stressful doing a video can be. I'm sure she gets a lot of emails a day but she probably replies to be about 1% of them and only read 5%. Most people in the business world get lots of emails- not exactly back breaking. If I were Elle, I'd be embarrassed to admit that my days are filled with putting on makeup and taking the proper precautions to ensure that it's off. I mean, really?! The saddest part of this is she exagerated what her day-to-day schedule is. She has "appearances" that are few and far between. I doubt that she's going to meetings as often as she says... even so, it's not the hardest thing in the world to have people fawn all over you or beg you to peddle their junk. Another thing I've noticed with Elle and Blair is how often they go out to breakfast, lunch and dinner. I know they make a decent wage from YouTube and their Dad has money, but to constantly be spending money on these outings and shopping sprees can't leave them with tons left over. They don't know the value of a dollar. If I were them, I'd be saving. You never know when the bath water is going to go cold and the champagne will turn into a Bud Light.

EXACTLY right. I really have no idea why the one "appearance" they get to make every 6 months or so is equal in their minds to an appearance every day - are you fucking kidding me?! So psychotic! This is one appearance that she got to do for a company ONE TIME, every single other meetup of theirs is hosted by THEM!! wtf?!

Lol thank you. And yes, I agree. If Blair had been there, I bet a lot more people would have shown up, which is sad because I personally prefer Elle over her sister.

I highly doubt she is making $250,000 a year. I was thinking more around $60k and that's with sponsorship and ad revenue. But who knows. You could be right. I said in my post that I don't knock her for making bank on doing next to nothing (who wouldn't want a similar set up in life). My point is that she is so devoid of knowing what real work is that she thinks doing her makeup and filming a video is stressful and hard. She needs a wake up call if she thinks that what she does is tiring or requires hour long compression-mode baths, 4 times per week. I think life is meant to be enjoyed and I wish everyone could be so lucky. But she needs to be grateful for what she has and realize that it's a luxury to not have to leave your house for your job and do whatever you want, whenever you want and still not worry about bills, etc. There are lots of talented girls on YouTube and more are joining each day. I wish YouTube didn't promote the top 5-10 gurus so much. A big reason why their videos get so many views is because they are advertised/recommended by the search results.

I try to remember to do the same thing. I shower at night and apply deodorant after I get out. Your pores are open and it's the most effective time to apply. I also re-apply in the morning. For people who sweat a lot (or just want to "air" on the side or precaution), it really helps! Since Elle showers in the morning, she probably does it just to be extra clean.

You'd be surprised how many youtubers actually call youtube their job,I have seen it mentioned several times, xsparkage calls youtube her job too. Too bad that one day it will all run out, I mean who wants to look at an old lady putting on makeup. Actually I would watch an old lady put on makeup, if they were talented and most of these girls are just average.

I have also seen gurus who call youtube their job. I'd love to have youtube as my job though.
The top ones like E&B probably make a couple hundred just on views per day, not to mention getting paid hundreds for a review and tonnes of free products. If i could make 100k per year by just making myself look pretty everyday and talk to a camera, I totally would.
Of course I'd be smarter and have something to fall back on once I grow up but damn it would be nice. But for them to call it hard work.. that's just ridiculous.

No offence girls, but what's keeping you from doing videos on Youtube just like Elle and Blair. You say that you would do them, then why don't you? What's keeping you from doing them? Lol

There's so many people doing it now that it's difficult to build a good following. YouTube skews the results in searches in favor of the top girls to the point where many new faces don't even get noticed. To post a few, unedited videos a week is not much of a time committment but if no one is watching you, it's a bit of a waste of time.

going to college and working full time.... school, homework and a job doesn't leave that much time for everything else! But I am not willing to give that all up to try to make it big on youtube.

I do it too. Actually, I use Dove or Degree "Clinical" protection and they recommend you to put it on at night before bed.

^^Yeah, school should be everyone's top priority in life, even college. But I agree that there are so many girls trying to make it big on Youtube, but of those hundreds and hundreds of girls, only a small handful are quality worthy. I don't know about you guys, but I rarely if ever watch the videos of gurus I am subscribed to anymore. They all seem to be lacking in some sort of spark and personality. I wish some truly amazing girls would break through all this bull shit and knock some of these sell-out bitches of their high horses. We need a youtube revolution. Youtube should have contracts with the gurus, that after 2 years, you need to get the fuck out! No one wants to look at that same face over and over again. It's like in the modeling industry. They're always looking for fresh faces, because let's face it people, get bored of seeing the same people over and over again. I'm sick of seeing Blair and Elle's overrated faces on youtube. That's what these girls are-overrated. People subscribe to them because they see others subscribing to them thinking there must be something good about them if they have so many subscribers. Ironically enough they are like their very own, so called "DON"T BELIEVE THE HYPE!" tags. There should be a beauty guru version. LOL We the viewers are so fed up with the same crap that goes on day in and day out, we desperately need a breath of fresh air.
