APARTMENT LEASE UP... IN LA FOR A YEAR

Most apartments do 1 year leases. Some will do short term or 6 months but the timing doesn't add up. It seems that Elle and Blair have been in LA for a year not since the fall like they claim. Why did they lie? People suspected this all along but the truth seems to be coming out. Let's not forget, Blair said she filmed the Prom movie last July. She was probably out there already. It's so weird to let your daughter live across the country at 17 when she should still be in high school. But I guess they are upgrading to a better apartment floor plan... nothing is ever good enough for these two.

Well, I'm not really sure of the area they live in, out is it close to a college?
If so, a lot of apartments located near colleges lease during the college year, because a lot of kids move home during the summer. If that is the case, the timing does add up.

However, more than likely they did get the apartment previous to this so that they had somewhere nice to stay and keep all of their stuff while they traveled there (I can't imagine them wanting to stay in hotels for repeat visits-it just doesn't seem their style to me, I don't know)

I was thinking it had something to do with the possible reality show. Maybe they filmed it in the summer?

That would make sense. It would also explain why they wanted a new layout, since that apartment probably would have been picked for them.

Where did everyone find out they were in LA earlier than they said???

I don't remember when they moved, but I know it was like before November, so maybe September/October? In videos prior to that Elle had mentioned quite a few times that their lease in LA had already started, they just hadn't moved in yet.

So it's quite possible they we're waiting on something, or something came up and they just weren't able to move till whenever. They may of used the apartment as a place to stay during the summer while Blair filmed Prom, and they we're going out for business meetings etc. They have the money, it wouldn't surprise me.

Also, I know quite a few apartment places in bigger cities do month to month, or odd number month leases. So maybe that was the case, but who knows with these two!

My apartment is month-to-month. Not unheard of, and probably a smart move if these two are as "busy" as they make themselves out to be. Who knows when they'll need to move for their next big "project"?

she cud just be breaking their lease which is pretty expensive ive done it myself..its like double the rent plus some other fees but maybe she didnt want ppl to know they are breaking it because its not big enough for them anymore..who knows who cares

Hate to burst your bubble but these two unknowns will NEVER get a show picked up by any network. It's been over 7 months since the news came out, and not even Lauren Conrad (the girl they stalk) could get her new show picked up by MTV. Look at the time frame - I have a November 2010 issue of Teen Vogue which announces Lauren's new show, and then I think not even 3 months later the news broke that she could NOT get it picked up. So that took 3 months and the idea they got in their head that they were getting their own show came 7 months ago.

the only reason Lauren's show got canceled was because MTV (who DID pick up her show btw) didn't think her show was raunchy enough for them. I mean think about it. A show that is inspiring and shows someone being successful?! WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO?!?!

Seriously. Unless the show has pregnant 16 year olds, people with issues or teens with drug and drinking problems, a show is not going to be picked up by MTV. People don't want to see success, they want to see chaos and thats what MTV is giving them.

Well maybe when they moved to LA the apartment they wanted was busy.. but the owner knew that it will be free in X months time, so they just signed a lease for another apartment until the other one frees up?! Or possibly a month to month lease. It's stupid to assume they were there earlier and were hiding it. They are not that smart or tricky.

Why the hell would they even get a reality TV show anyway...who would watch it? No one would know who they were except their die hard little minions and the companies that send them free shit! And they're so boring. I can imagine Blair coming up on the screen going "Sooo like, this morning, I was going to get some breakfast and I realized we were out of orange juice! OMGHHKP! All we had was soda, and like, who drinks soda for breakfast? I don't! I mean, like, *touches hair* I will onlyyyyy drink soda if it is D-I-E-T. I haven't like, touched a real soda in like, 3 years. OMGHHKP, right?! That must be a new world record! Is that a new world record? I'm going to Google that!"


-____- If they ever did get picked up, they'd be torn apart by the media! They can't even handle a few hate comments by teenagers on Youtube. How would they handle Hollywood?

Seems like they are in the LaBrea Apartments across from the Grove from how they talk. Anyway if that's the case year lease is standard, but LaBrea Apartments would probably let them transfer the lease just to not lose he money plus it could open the apartment to new people and that area is in high demand because of location so it wouldn't be that shocking. It's pretty much in the middle of everything not far from LaBrea not far from Fairfax or the Beverly Center...it's not bad if you have to get to other places of the city though it is hard to get on the high way from there if you as me then again it's always hard to get on the highway in LA.

I think they don't lie about moving to LA, they probably, like someone said, have enough money to rent the apartment while not rly
living there..
I already watched Elle's new video and I was wondering about moving in another apartment or whatever soo quickly, I tought they
are crazy and WTH why they need a new apartment.. because I don't knew about 1year-leases, but well okay know It's clear why haha
where I live (in Europe) it's pretty normal to stay as long as you want at one apartment, except apartments for students but they aren't students

elle went out apartment hunting and signed a lease a long time before they moved
i remember her saying it in a video at the time

In Elle's new video she confirms that she's moving and that she and Blair already have an apartment and they're moving very soon but keeping their current one for a few more weeks.

the only thing that annoys me is that they moved in like 9 months ago, and literally EVERY day people have been asking for a room tour, and they haven't done one yet. its like, if you don't want to do one thats fine, just freaking SAY SOMETHING so everyone stops requesting it.

She just posted a twitpic of the place and it doesn't look like an apartment at all. It actually looks like a really nice house in the process of being renovated.

It's actually the Positano Penthouse model at the Palazzo at Park La Brea. It's a 3 bedroom model and the going rent is $4,896 to $5,909 a month, which is INSANE.

That is incredibly expensive. Especially when they don't even need to live in central LA. My family rent a house (there are 6 of us), 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, spread over 3 stories... it's £2000 a month. And they are paying more than that for a 3 bed flat.

These girls do not know the value of money.

On the website for their apartment buildings it says this, so its quite possible they didn't sign a year lease. But like I said before, I'm pretty sure I remember Elle saying in videos prior to them moving to LA, that their lease had started and they hadn't moved in yet.
