Can someone explain to me why this guy makes so many youtube videos and doesn't try to audition or get some roles in real shows or movies..if he's so talented?

I was subscribed to him in the very beginning, back when he did the skits like hodini's street magic and they were FUNNY, now all of his videos are vulgar just to be vulgar, they aren't funny anymore.

He's not funny. At all. I was subscribed to him a long time ago, but as his popularity grew he stopped relying on being genuine and funny to just being a sex obsessed weirdo. I think he's creepy...

Agree with the last two posters. His videos now are just sick, I can't even laugh at them. Reminds me of the difference between Madtv and SNL, I could never laugh at any of the skits from SNL. They were just too stupid.

His videos are fucking disgusting, I can't even handle watching them. I feel like he's always fake vomiting stuff, spitting everywhere, or just being vulgar. It's sad to see that he's able to be one of the most popular youtubers just from being gross and sexual about everything. He seriously can not say two serious sentences without throwing in a sexual innuendo, it get's really old really quickly.
Sad because he actually seems like a nice guy, he just has to keep his little act up in order to stay popular. Lame.

When I first subscribed to him almost two years ago, I honestly thought he was really funny. With FUNNY jokes, and some Kesha videos. And don't forget Shanaynay
I unsubscribed to him about two months ago, when his videos got too disgusting to even bother watching.
But now, sometimes I will look up his channel and maybe watch a recent video or something. But I can barely even FINISH them! I am so tired of seeing him puke that oatmeal shit and pretending to die or be killed. And JESUS enough with the lame SEX and FUCK jokes, they just aren't funny!
Now whenever I watch a Shane Dawson video, all I can think about is how vulgar he is. Completely disgusting.

I must admit I strongly dislike most things about Shane Dawson. I think he's an horrible actor, extremely vulgar for the sake of it (oh, he mentioned a pubic hair and spoke in a 'ghetto-accent' while talking about his mother calling him a crude, insulting word for a homosexual because of his haircut again! I bet all the thirteen year old children are giggling hysterically!) and simply not amusing. I do understand being provocative or vulgar for the sake of art, for the sake of getting a point across, or at least for the sake of something else than making tweens laugh so he can get them to buy his horribly tacky merchandise.

I feel that lately, he's just repeating himself again and again, at least he used to be slightly more creative - and all his channel really shows how money hungry he has become. It's pathetic, really.

I think I'm just too mature to consider something like "clitterdick" funny. Most of his comments seem to come from pubescent girls, talking about how "h00t <333" and "omg s00 funni!! xxxxx ;]" he is, something I believe says something about his general fan base. I also think the way he's often shoving his religious beliefs down every viewers throat is offensive. Those ridiculous Christian morals at the end of every video seem so forced and almost inappropriate for his typical videos. It seems hypocritical, but he unfortunately got the fan girls to eat out of the palm of his hand. I saw the trailer for his TV-show, yeah, good luck with that.

But now I'm kinda growing out of him, I'm still subscribed I just don't like his videos as much as I used to. I still love Shanaynay though and his paris vlog that he done recently I thought was hilarious. I wonder if all the sex jokes he uses is because hes sexually frustrated... I think hes still a virgin. Do you guys think he is gay? Not that it matters at all, I'm just curious.

He claims to be a virgin, as he's saving himself for marriage. True or not, I don't know, but I don't need to know about his sex-life. His sexuality is totally irrelevant and his own business, why should it be discussed? It's private to him. If he was openly homosexual, it's one thing to discuss it: But as he claims to be hetero and his orientation doesn't have anything do to with his position, why even ask? You should know if you claim to be obsessed at one point.

Yeah of course it's his own business, I wasn't asking Shane Dawson to post all the details about his sex life, that would be disturbing since he has so many younger viewers. I was trying to find an excuse of why he makes so many sexual references in his videos, it seems strange that he does it so much. If he claimed to be homosexual I wouldn't be discussing the matter.

I think he just does it, because he thinks that what his fans like. I used to watch SD videos all the time, but haven't watched them in a while. They're a little hard to watch now. I tried today and couldn't even get through a video (not even halfway). Shane is a great guy, it's just his videos are, like everyone else has said, extremely vulgar and disturbing now.

Maybe I'm a sicko, but I have loved some of his more recent videos. The iphone channel cracks me up, him filming a dog humping his mom's leg while dancing to hannah montana- how does he think of this stuff?! It's random and fun, I think people want to be so serious and politically correct- this is the internet not some prestigious film school.

My fav video is the one where Shanaynay is his driving instructor, and the one where he makes his own Kourtney and Khloe tv show has me laughing so hard I was crying.

I don't think he is religous, nor do I think having cute little morals at the end of your video is pushing religion down peoples throat. He just made a video that had jesus farting, and he didnt know if the jesus pen was jesus or god. I think he used to be really insecure and overweight, and not happy with his life, he is just showing people he changed his life around and he is noone special, everyone else can too.

To be honest, I probably wouldn't watch a tv show of him if it ever comes out. I like watching him in short videos on youtube whenever I feel like going on yt, I dont want to watch a half hr or more tv show, nor do I want to wait for it to come on tv.

And he's still going to be playing all of his characters? You sound incredibly ignorant. You don't know anything about his sexuality, nor does it have anything do to with you - it's simply none of your business who he sleeps with. Having a lot of female friends doesn't equal not being attracted to them, I have a lot of male friends - does that make me a lesbian? I DID NOT SAY THAT BEING GAY IS GROSS, wtf??? I said that he was being "gross as usual" with his stupid vulgar innuendos. I have several gay friends, and I've noticed that they tend to be a lot more vulgar when it comes to jokes. Would a straight guy seriously have a sleepover with a girl and joke about her "stanky pu**y" He acts like several of my gay friends, so yes, he seems gay to me. Am I insulting him? No. It's a general observation based off my own personal experiences.

I think a lot of people suspected the decline, with the increasingly crappy quality and content of his videos, but when he made the announcement that his main Saturday videos would soon become an "every other week" thing, it became crystal clear. He hasn't done an "Ask Shane" since the end of February and his last Saturday video was posted almost 3 weeks ago. However, he did just recently post some idiotic inflatable water slide video and complained about how he's had a "bad week" and is burned out on video ideas. The iPhone channel is a scapegoat - he can post a 30-second video on it here and there, just often enough to fill in the long gaps between video posts on the main and second channels, then blast the link all over Facebook and Twitter like he actually filmed something worth watching. It's just enough to make his viewers forget that he isn't posting regular, decent videos (or at least they let it slide).

If YouTube is going to be your f--ing job, then you better treat it like one. I have no pity for these morons who bitch and moan about having to come up with ideas and how long it takes them to film and edit. Would you like to trade and work my 3 jobs instead?? I'd love to work from home, get paid to travel, have thousands of fans, endorsements, and a TV show! What a HARD life, Shane. If I asked for time off because I was having "a bad week," I would get laughed at.

Lots of people have had bad experiences in life. It's not an excuse to use cheap, self-serving tactics like exploiting personal childhood struggles to justify why he deserves his fame or faking integrity to make every video so sickeningly moralistic and preachy that it puts Disney to shame. I watched Shane Dawson for the longest time but the vulgarity got old and irritating. (And I see/watch really hard core vulgar, his stuff was just immature.) However, I just watched a video where he wasn't vomiting/killing someone/making heavy sex jokes and I really laughed. He's still funny, he just tries too hard to be outrageous and dirty. I don't think he actually is that dirty in real life, he just tries hard for videos and so it's somewhat phony and even less comedic. Maybe if he realized he was still really funny and had a lot of support without being disgusting people would be much more satisfied with him? Networks would certainly be more willing to make his TV show.

i know i am prolly really old with this but this big youtuber back in the day gave shane a shout out which help get shane big like this dude gave him half a video to promote him anyway just after shane exploded this dudes channel got deleted for some reason and he had to start again he asked shane to do the same for him shane gave hima twitter anoncement did even give this dude a shout out in a video. anyway another youtuber called mrchicity commented on this and shane said he would give this dude a proper shout out on a video it has been two years and i haven't seen it i have now offically lost all respect for shane
