How does she afford to give away an iPad???? Why would anyone want to do that anyway?

Well, it's not really her affording it - clearly her family is well off and it's likely her parents often give her money along with the money she earns herself from youtube and what not. If you have the $, why not give away an ipad! What's in it for her? Subscribers and people kissing her ass even more then they do now.

I've mentioned this before, she obviously is very fortunate and uses her parents' money to her advantage. She gained her first couple of subscribers by throwing a contest as well. She has been known to give away expensive prizes such as $100 gift cards, marc jacobs bags, and now ipads. She is very spoiled and doesn't appreciate much of what she has. How do I know? No one can use all that makeup, or wear all those clothes more than once. She wasted $100's-$1000s on useless stuff she never used and this proves she doesn't appreciate what she has. I think it's outrageous to give away something that expensive, but hey that's her business. Considering the fact some people actually WORK their butts off for something like that.

I think her parents letr do whatever she wants because they can't be there for her I think. I've noticed that she goes out too much with only her justin and stuff, her parents think that all it takes is money to raise a child. If anyone disagrees, explain why she is so effing naive and dumb. She posts so much personal info and she is not too bright.

She's represents out generation or at least American teens in a way. We are so fucked.

I'm sure her parents went to college, worked hard, and as a result made good money.

But anyways, I have observed you, and I think you must have a decent amount of spare time. Why not put it to good use? Do something good for the world, or for yourself even! Why sit here and trash talk another teen?

You do know she makes 142 dollars a day + more. I'm sure she has no use for her parents money anymore and since it is her money, she can choose what to do with it.

I don't see what's wrong with giving away an iPad or any prize for any matter, no matter what the worth is. She just happens to be able to afford giving away more expensive items so the more power to her! and her subscribers!

This is only my own opinion but I doubt her parents would give her money to buy things for giveaways. It's probably her own money that she made off YT and her online store.

But teens like Megan are the top, best examples of how a girl should behave. Go on ridiculous shopping sprees, which she DID NOT pay for. Show off all that crap she buys to make other girls feel less fortunate. Whore around her boyfriend in every video and send out all sorts of mixed messages. Post private info on ones self and their families. Argue, and message random strangers all over the internet. End up getting posted on pedophile sites. Talk about push up bras, and relationship 'advice'. Oh and act way beyond ones age, because personally if I say her in the street I would think she's atleast 25.

Exactly. Seriously let's think about this.

1. Let's say she does a sponsored contest and gives away prizes a company gave her for the amount of hmm $50. people would complain that she doesn't care enough to buy her own prizes.

2. Option 2, she gives away a nice and expensive item she bought, and people still get mad. Just be happy she's willing to spend the money on her subscribers instead of doing a sponsored contest.. which she could easily do.

Megan does have a job, like it or not she puts in work (even if you don't count it) and gets paid. She makes more than any teen could working a job.

1) Megan has done nothing to prove that she also doesn't care about her education. You have no valid proof to back that statement up. You can be interested in fashion, makeup and hair and still care about education. Some people actually go to school for those exact things.

2) I'm sorry you have to give up your summers to do extra work. I applaud you for working hard, it is commendable that you want to earn your own money. In this world you will find some people do have to work harder than others. But that's just the way things have always been and always will be. Accept the things you cannot change.

3) Megan makes her own money, so I would imagine she spends quite a bit of her own money. I would imagine her parents buy her things as well, as MANY MANY parents of 15 year old kids do. Obviously she comes from a well to do family. I'm sorry you are bitter and perhaps a bit jealous. I also come from a family that is not as well off, but I am not going to waste my time hating on Megan. Neither should you.

Believe it or not but there are other girls out there who LIKE to see the things Megan buys, whether they can afford it or not. It's like looking in a fashion magazine. You can't necessarily afford everything in there, but it's fun to look!

5) "Whore around with her boyfriend" I'm also assuming you must be quite conservative if you think Megan is a whore because she has a boyfriend that she enjoys kissing and perhaps touching occasionally (going solely by what you and I see on YouTube). Until she's having sex with him on screen, again your statement is not valid.

6) "Push-up bras" Come on now... That's just a really silly thing to complain about.

7) Megan does not seem 25. She seems exactly her age. I have asked my friends who do not watch youtube videos how old they think they are and they all guessed between the 14 to 16 range, so please do not exaggerate for effect.

The great thing about youtube is that if you don't want to watch the video you don't have to. No one is pushing Megan down your throat. Don't like it? Don't watch!

I too think it's ridiculous to give away an iPAD2.. especially to strangers whom you do not know plus a 12 year old girl will probably end up with it not knowing or having anything to do with it..what a waste! Well...

She can afford it, because she makes a lot of money off her videos. She earns thousands of dollars per video, she can afford to give us something in return. You'd think with all the money she makes, she would actually do more giveaways.

Lots of gurus are supporting it, not just her, but I think it's kind of rude, because she's getting more and more people to compete, and I was thinking of running for that a couple months back, but now I feel like I won't have much of a shot if so many people run. thanks Megan...thanks

No offense, but every single topic doesn't need a new thread. This could all be discussed in the general one. As for her giving a heads up on the contest, I think it was kind of nice to let girls know about that huge opportunity. Even without her or anyone else making a video on it, there are still going to be thousands of entries.
