"Pinky Promise?" Tutorial discussion

her new video is a pink and somewhat brown colored tutorial
it looks nice i thought it was really good
but yeah now she was i think advertising the BH cosmetics pallette
thoughts?

I thought it was pretty. Definitely one of the best tutorials she's done in quite a while. But I was also disappointed that it was ANOTHER compensated tutorial.

I thought it was okay, but it's funny that she comes back to do a tutorial after a while and she's compensated for it. I don't get why she always says "I had fun doing this look...this was so much fun." Okay, we get that YOU had fun. The lighting was still a bit orange, and I don't get why their videos are in such low quality if they have HD cameras...they obviously have something to hide.

i rolled my eyes at her posting it on both her channel AND elleandblair.com and just linked the one on elleandblair.com on her twitter, it seems like such a ploy to get hits on the website

That's what I think too...you click on the link (that she tweeted) and it's take you to their website instead of YouTube. Just another marketing trick...

Okay, I thought this look was pretty. I remember her being sent the BH Cosmetics palette a few months ago, so it wasn't sent to her for this particular video, but she was compensated by Mylikes. Anyways, I recently made a YT account and I don't know how to figure out if comments are on approval or not. I've concluded that if they were, it would say Comments are on approval for this video. Or something along the lines of that, so I'm assuming they're not. So far, I haven't seen any hater comments and "only" 404 dislikes as opposed to 2341 likes.

Yeah I refuse to click the links on her twitter. I just go straight to the www.youtube.com/juicystar07. I thought the tutorial was boring. I clicked out 1/2 way through, which is a first for me. It's just the same shiz over and over. I cringe when I hear the phrase "do the windshield wiper motion." Besides pink eye shadow makes you look tired. True makeup artist say never use pink.

VERY similar. It's basically the same, but with brown instead of gold. She even says the same stuff about it being "wearable, and not dramatic...you can wear color but it's wearable...blah, blah, blah."

it just verifies my belief that she can't do anything but neutrals and anything else is just a repeat of an earlier tutorial, like that purple one she did not too long ago

This video irritated me for quite a few reasons. I know a lot of girls do it but I don't like the look of eyeliner on the waterline. It makes your eyes look smaller- Blair's eyes are already beady. Secondly, she used a liner that has glitter in it. Not only is it dangerous to use liner on your waterline but to use a product with glitter is just asking for irritation or an infection. Next, the lighting was so orange that you could barely decipher what colors she was using. I've said it in the past but it bears repeating, why post tutorials in poor lighting and low resolution- it's kind of pointless?! Next, out of all the lip products she has, she used one that is not available for purchase. If you want your viewers to achieve a look you created, try using things they can get. I'm sure she has 100 other light pink glosses. Lastly, is she so devoid of an imagination that she can't make a video that isn't sponsored? That to me says she does YouTube solely for the income and not to help people. She never posts a video that is just her doing something inventive for the joy of being creative and hopefully helping her viewers. She's just tacky.

^I 1000% agree about putting eyeliner on the water line. I think it's gross and unsanitary and does nothing for the eyes.

I don't hate her but hate the way she says tutorial. she says it like "tootorial" .... it's annoying

Ok I just have to clear this up, NO true makeup artist would EVER say you can't wear pink, or that it 'makes you look tired!' I am a Diploma Certified MUA, (highest qualification you can get!) and pink is a very flattering colour on many people! What bodily cavity did you pull that shit out of? Sorry if I sound obnoxious but I think if you are a fellow lover of all things makeup & beauty you should know that there are NO rules when it comes to makeup - ever. EVER. There are only guides.

I think you are thinking of skin tones and what colours flatter different skin colours; like cool pinks (blue/cool undertones) and warm pinks (red/warm undertones) - because there is a difference. For example Elle is very very cool and in her recent tute where she applies the 'scarlett' colour it does nt suit her, it makes her skin look translucent, sallow & pink, she can still pull it off because she is gorgeous and she applied it quite well however., it was pretty subtle for a red eye makeup look.

Blair is lucky in that she can pull of both cool and warm colours flawlessly. This is actually fairly common especially for brunettes. I'm also impressed by her use of coppers and warm browns with a cool baby pink over the lid that was nice, really compliments her olive skin.

But yes windscreen wiper motion isnt the most effective way to blend shadow into the crease and she definitely lacks a lot of technical makeup ability. She usually uses the exact same eyeshadow template, the lid colour, the crease colour, the highlite etc... In reality there are so many more options. Also, a lot of the time she shoesnt do the best eye makeup style for her eye. her eyes are small and I think she applies her shadow too sloppily and drags it up too far past her lid. But like I said there are no rules, only guidlines.

Someone is drinking the "Juicy" juice- "gorgeous", "flawless", "impressed". ha! You must be easy to please. I wouldn't say Elle is very, very cool. Her skin isn't porcelain. She can achieve a tan.

It must hard to come up with makeup looks when you have orange oompalumpa skin. All her looks are blurry and you can't see anything.

She's one of those people who looks significantly better with a tan. When she's pale it doesn't suit her features. I bet their "handlers" (hahaha) have told Blair to tan, tan, tan and told Elle to stay out of the sun. This way, new viewers can distinguish b/w the Foul-ers. They are obsessed with trying to be ying yangs to "please" a larger demographic. During that one interview w/ those YouTube clevver chicks, they were asked about their Team Edward/Jacob preferences. Blair was honest for once and said she liked that her and Elle agreed, as it didn't cause any bickering. But Elle spoke without thinking and said that it would be better if they were split on the issue... this is bc it would basically be more relatable (ie: profitable) if one sister liked Edward and the other liked Jacob. Elle would rather cover all the bases with their minions than get along with her sister! I hope this made sense.

Blair is so unoriginal and a copy cat. In one of her vlog videos, she's like "Hey, what's up" or somethin along those lines. Then she goes on about how she wants pyroglyphics in her intros. Bull shit. She copied FluffeeTalks.

YA'LL are nuts i found this website and i think its sick and nasty and should be blocked, do you really have to be so low just to hate on beauty gurus that dont do anything havent you heard of being nice to people?
