Megan’s Hair & Make-Up Tutorials!

Why she always use the speed up in her makeup tutorials?

She said she use the speed up cause it'll take her too long to explain it.
What?! You're a beauty guru, you are supposed to explain it!

And she always said "hopefully you'll be able to get the look".
No, I don't get it.

I think she's just lazy to do a normal makeup tutorial like everybody else.
Or she knows she's not good at it, she use the speed up so that no one will know what she's doing and what she's doing wrong.

And even in her old makeup tutorials videos that's not speed up, she swept the eyeshadows on, then that's it! She can't even blend it or blend it well.
I've seen a lot of people leave the comments in her makeup tutorials videos like: "You didn't blend the eye shadows , you only wipe it on" or "You should blend the eye shadows in a better way".
She deleted it all!!! I've saw some people saying in this forum that Megan even blocked them for saying the comments like that. Wow.

Oh and she often have mascara on her eyelids whether it's her haul/vlog videos or makeup tutorial videos, it's like, she can't even apply her mascara well.(ok, if she can't really apply the mascara well, at least get that stuff out of your eyelids before you film a video!)

Also, her nails are always a mess, to be honest, it's quite gross, I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but if this so-called beauty guru can't even apply her mascara/eyeshadow/nail polish well, how is she going to teach us how to do it???

I'll never watch her makeup tutorials again, it's just wasting time, and not even in a interesting way.
I don't really think she's a "beauty guru", maybe a "haul guru" is more like it.

I definitely agree with you. I have never really liked any of her tutorials, mostly because they aren't blended well and she always cakes whatever she uses on. I mean, who sets their face with bronzer? It just doesn't look good.

Whenever I stumble upon these photos of her.. I cringe. She is embarrassing herself with all this unneeded makeup on!

A 12 years old girl can do a better job putting on makeup than meganheartsmakeup.

her eyeliner abilities suck to. she always makes it so jagged and uneven. and setting her foundation with bronzer DOES NOT give her a 'glow' like she claims. it makes it look like she hasn't washed ehr face in days

In her latest video she said she's not "doing as much" make-up tutorials anymore because she gets hate for them. Em... when did you ever do that many lmao?

First her lame makeup tutorials and now the "sparkly lips", she's like a 3 years old that don't know how to apply makeup, she has NO makeup skills at all, and she deleted any suggestion that tell her to blend the eye shadow, cause she's so freakin proud of herself!!! OMG she's hopeless!!!

the sparkly lips looked cheap and tacky. and ive gotten better results with pink lips stick and shimmery lip gloss

Yes her eyeliner, mascara and nails are so disgusting, I even feel embarrassing for her every time I watched her makeup tutorials, I'm like, OMG what are you doing?! you're putting lipstick outside your mouth! That's so embarrassing! She don't know how to put on makeup, and she deleted all the comments saying that she need to learn more or any negative comments. I can't stand her.

Oh and I think she use speed up now because that way we can't see how she put on makeup clearly, cause her makeup skills are HORRIBLE.

For some reason in most of her pictures, One of her eyes is always squinting and like half closed . . Looks weird. .

And now Megan is saying in this site "If someone says I don't blend my makeup properly, well then, that is their opinion."
So sometimes she has mascara on her eyelids is JUST our opinion too? OMG.

It's a fact that she doesn't blend her ~makeup~ properly. She can't handle the truth! Sucks for her, her eyeshadow 'looks' suck ass.

She eyeliner skills sucks! Her eyeliner is like ~~~~~~~~~~~ it's just horrible to watch!
She don't know how to put on eyeshadow too, she don't blend her eyeshadow so it's like she only have one color on her eyelids. And in her recently tutorials her eyeshadow is like a rectangle shape, what the hell is that?
I noticed she has mascara on her eyelids all the time too! Can't she wipe that thing off???
And don't get me start on her nail polish! Her nails looks very gross and she always put nail polish on her fingers!!!
Don't she feel ashamed or embarrassed that her makeup skills sucks so bad and she called herself a beauty guru and she's teaching us how to put on makeup???
OK if we really learn "how to put on makeup" from her we'll have:
1. Eyeliner that is ~~~~~~~.
2. Mascara on our eyelids.
3. Put on 3 or 4 colors of eyeshadows but only have one color on the eyelids.
4. Weird eyeshadow shape on our eyelids.
5. Cakey and chunky nail polish that looks very gross.
6. Nail polish on our fingers.
7. Put on too much bronzer that'll looks like we didn't wash our faces in days.
Any more?

Hi guys!
So I realise that her videos whether there hair or make-up tutorials are often discussed in the general thread but I decided to make a separate topic just for discussing them and them alone. By that I mean no personal life stuff about Justin, family or whatever. I just thought it would just keep things a little more neat and tidy although there is a second reason for opening this topic. I find that from time to time in the general thread people just leave hater comments or don’t add anything very productive or constructive to the thread. I’m hoping to keep this thread solely about her skills as a “Guru” as I feel that its great to do that sometimes! Plus, can Megan really complain about this topic considering she often claims she’s all for constructive criticism on beauty related matters!? We’ll see…

I don't normally care for her makeup videos because I think they all look the same, but I usually like her hair videos. I thought the newest one with the ribbon was really cute and she is so lucky because her skin is flawless. You can see her skin up close and she doesnt have much makeup on and her skin is so smooth. She is lucky about that. I think she looks better with less makeup.

I get what your saying about her hair and make-up tutorials, the hair ones are so much better although I can't say I enjoyed the one with the ribbons. I hated it really . I just don't think anyone above middleschool should have ribbons in their hair lmao.

I honestly don't think her or ANY Gurus skin is that great. The cameras they use just don't pick up everything and make them look ten times better than they actually do. Don't get me wrong, her skin is very clear and all I'm just saying don't always believe what you see on camera

I really liked her Taylor swift allure magazine one. I liked the hair and makeup both in that one. I normally hate her winged eyeliner look though. It is too harsh looking, in my opinion.

I'm sure someone else mentioned here in another topic that the magazine gave step by step instructions on how to obtain the look for the hair and make-up. Pretty sure she failed to mention that and more or less passed the make-up look off as her own

I really like this idea of a thread on just hair and makeup so thank you. BUT not to get off topic, but I do think that most of her subbies watch her because of her life and boyfriend and sisters and all that. I mean her hair and makeup stuff is pretty boring. Like how Ryan Sheckler got so famous because of his tv show. He's a decent skateboarder but it was because he was this cute sensitive guy that had girl friend problems and stuff. That is why everyone watched him. If Megan really is getting a show, it's probably not because of makeup or hair but because of the other stuff that teens like to watch.

I agree, like school troubles or stuff like that. It'll probably end up being nothing about makeup and hair!!
And idk why, but i think that the show, if she's gonna do it, is going to become a hit. I'm saying that because she's kinda good at getting people to feel sorry for her, and kinda get them to want to watch her more. So in the end, she may end up like Kim Kardashian.... (blonde version)

In my opinion, the only reason why people watch these YouTube "gurus" (the newer ones. Way after Michelle Phans time) is because they are new, vulnerable people. People can (depending on who you are) pick on them or like them solely because of their life or appearance. Now, why I brought this up. Megan really has no makeup skills. None that a normal teenager wouldn't have. People only watch her because she isn't bad looking, she has a nice life, and is something different than the older more snobby makeup gurus. So in reality, no matter how many people will try and defend her, her makeup skills are not great. She's just something new and different for people to watch. (I say new because she is becoming popular lately.)

...I lol @ everytime I hear about her having a show. She doesn't really have any outrageous skills. All she's really good at is showing off her life. I am guessing that if she does have a show, it's probably just going to focus around her lifestyle. I mean, she gets everything HANDED to her. Of course people are going to love watching that on television, not. But yeah..... what can she really have going on that is so great? The girl does makeup and hair tutorials ffs!!!!!!!
