I honestly, dont trust the girl, I think she does good tutorials makeup wise and hair but as far as anything that comes out of her mouth i dont trust.

She recently curled her hair, she has the extensions, and she was like I got this curling iron at Sallys for $30, you dont need an expensive iron to get good results, they are all the same!!!

Then next video she is shoving the latest beauty choice tool down our throat, i was like WTF.

She is making $$$$ tons of it.

LOL yeah, it's a good idea to pick and choose what you sponsor, and I think the tongue scraper was a bad choice! LOL I won't lie, if companies paid me I'm sure I'd say yes, but you have to be careful to maintain some credibility. And as for watching gurus, when I watch the bigger ones I just assume they are being paid or sent free products- most times it's just a given. You can find some smaller ones that don't have enough popularity to be sponsored and that's where you are likely to get the most honest reviews.

But as for jlovesmac1, she is one guru I actually enjoy watching, so even though it's clear she's sponsored, I will still watch her videos. She has a lot more talent than other gurus. But I won't go out and buy the things she promotes on her word alone. There are VERY few things I've ever purchased because it was in a video, but I usually check it out a couple other places first and get some differing opinions.

well, be real, if you were a youtuber, you would do the same thing...

people need money to make a living... not like she is killing people or doing something wrong to make money, she does what she knows best i guess... and you still can see if the video is sponsored, use your head and dont buy it? ...

I have to agree. If I knew enough and had enough talent for makeup, I'd be doing the youtube thing too! But I'm more there to learn and know I can't compare to the really great gurus.

Just don't sponsor every and any crappy product under the sun, you'll lose your credibility!

I don't know about the accuracy of that myu2b site. It says Blair makes only $153/day and she has 600,000+ subscribers as compared to Jarmaine's 200,000+. But regardless, she is bringing in the cash.

Lately her videos are getting... eh.

I used to love her videos WAY back, when her tutorials didn't go for 2 minutes and when she would do something totally random and funny. When she didn't vlog about her eating and going to the gym... I guess she's "famous" now.

I think she's still the real Jarmaine.
I think at one point though, the passion you once had disappears if you do it so much.
That's just my opinion though.

yea i think that she maybe ran out of ideas on how to be sooo funny all the time. she seems more natural now. like there are no cuts in her videos. its just one straight video for the most part so she's really just chilling out with us, not trying to tell jokes all the time.

Those numbers on that website change day to day. They aren't really accurate.

Ehhh everything she hauls nowadays is ubber expensive. But yeah if i had her talent I'd be living it up two.

it is a makeup channel. a tongue scraper isn't relevant. if it was jlovescolgate1 then it'd make sense to do the review. a tongue scraper costs like $2 and they are all the same. how much could she be getting paid for such a review?

money has gone to every YT guru's head. sure at first they were interesting....but it just become predictable and uninteresting now.

yea, money HAS gotten to her head. EVER SINGLE VIDEO now is like a low budget commercial. honestly, i don't mind ever now and then, but not ALL of them. and most of her videos have NOTHING to do with make-up. Its mostly clothes, hauls, reviews, or something random like brushing your teeth, as if we don't already now how.

frankly, im tired of it and i unsubscribed today. theres no point in watching her if she isn't going to give me any useful information. money will change anyone to some degree, for better or worst, but lets not forget your inicial inspiration to do makeup videos on youtube.

michelle phan might be a sell out to some degree, i actually like her though lol, but thats besides the point. atleast michelle phan gives some pretty decent tips and information at times. jlovesmac1 does absolutely nothing but product placement, false advertising, and stupid reviews on the dumbest things. really, a tounge scrapper? there wasn't anything else huh? its just sick. *sigh*
