So, I just came across this journal entry on her old blog, I believe. I'd be interested to hear the response from her fans, especially regarding the part about going to porn shows (and commenting on the breasts of the naked women). I know this entry was from sometime back and I also believe she was still in a relationship with Timmy at the time (since they have been together for 7 years), so I don't know how he would react if he knew about this, but if it was me (and my future gf did something alone these lines), I'd be very disappointed.

Do you think if your girl did something like this that it would, in a way, change the way you thought about her (especially if you thought she was pure/clean)?

I know I come from a country (Australia) that is very liberal in values compared to other Western countries. We even had a former-PM (Kevin Rudd) who went to a strip club and the news broke before the Federal Election and he still won the election. However, in my opinion, if my future gf did anything like this, I don't think I could ever look at her the same way. I know that might sound harsh, but you cannot tell me that this would not affect teenagers/high school age people who look up to a person did/was doing this.

I'm a bubz fan. I read it. I don't give a crap. If anything about the way I see her has changed at all, I like her more now. The post just shows me she's human and not some perfect little unrealistic angel. I don't expect ANYONE to be perfect. o.O I'm honestly not sure why you think maybe 7 words in a xanga post are going to somehow transform someone's entire opinion of her. If it does, they're most likely pretty stuck up or extremely prudent and expect everyone to have the same views as them, which is just ridiculous. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with being prudent, it's usually a good thing, but that doesn't mean she's a bad person because she's not as prude as someone else o.O it's not like she wrote a xanga post about hooking on the streets or something. Sheesh.

I've gotta get out more? Excuse me, I already do. It looks like you are just another one of those ardent fans who comes up with the same hackneyed expressions that others have repeated ad nauseum on these forums when someone is just expressing their own opinion, but you have completely missed the point I'm getting at (however, the poster of the previous message before yours nailed it). You'll have to do a lot better than saying "you gotta get out more". That's weak!

I'm new to these forums, and I have watched numerous YouTube videos of hers. Like what someone else said in another thread on this Bubzbeauty part of the forums, yes, she did start out very sincere and humble in 2008 when she started posted YouTube videos, and I did enjoy some of the 'motivational' videos she did, as well as her tutorials on acne prevention etc.

However, in the last 12 months, the dramatic change in her personality has become noticeable. People have already touched on several aspects which have come under a lot of scrutiny (e.g. HD Camera debacle, rooming with Shimmy/Chonny incident whilst having a bf, flaunting of material possessions etc.). Her comedy channel Bubbiosity was very humorous in the beginning and I enjoyed her unique perspective of her life and what it was like to be a British-Born Chinese.

However, slowly by slowly, I noticed the nature of the content in her comedy became vulgar in nature and she started including weird things (such as the Triads video and her grandmother). I don't know how much her family and relatives know about her YouTube videos. It would be interesting to know their perception, since most Chinese people that I know of are very conservative when it comes to taboo/touchy topics. I'd be surprised if her family approved of a lot of the content in the Bubbiosity channel. Without using bad language, I'll just say that my perception of her has changed for the negative over the last year.

Which leads to the point regarding the Xanga post and what one of the previous posts said.....

I just mentioned about the changing nature of the content on the Bubbiosity videos. I knew of her Xanga blog (although I don't know if she still posts on there or not). However, after I read that particular blog entry that I linked to this thread, it doesn't surprise me that Bubz wrote that thread when I think about all the videos over the past few months or so she's posted. I think it is very disappointing that her fans, especially those in the primary/high-school age demographic, are looking up to someone who shares the moral values of the person who wrote that post and are perceiving them as a role-model, regardless of what ethnicity or religion her supporters are. It's also interesting to note that she has made several religious/God references in her videos, especially the motivational videos. I'm sorry, but I have lost a lot of respect for her.

And someone also mentioned about the Shimmy/Chonny incident at a Los Angeles hotel. Again, in terms of the role-model aspect, this doesn't portray a good image. I know the defenders will come out in full force and say that nothing went on between Shimmy and Chonny in the hotel room and I believe them. However, she had a bf at the time and you just have to ask yourself this: how would you feel if your bf/gf stayed in the same room with two other girls/guys? I highly doubt you would be very comfortable with that. Not to mention the treatment that some of her Melbourne fans got when she came to see Chonny. As reported by someone who saw her and Chonny at the Aquarium (or wherever it was in Melbourne), she looked like she didn't want to be seen by other people and I thought the treatment the fans got was very unfortunate, but again, that's just my opinion.

Either way or another, I would like to hear Bubzbeauty's (aka Lindi's) response regarding that Xanga post.

I already wrote this on another thread, but she's just a stupid whore. This may not be a really big deal (her xanga post) but just in general she's a bad role model. Her tutorials are the same looks over and over again. I can't stand her. I unsubbed and stopped watching her videos a while ago.

The post looks just like some silly vulgar university girl talks posted on blog. Textinglish and the dropping of odd letters hurt my eyes too much to read the whole post.

I had been a fan in the beginning (I subbed her around last sep when she posted the vampire look video) and I thought, hey, I like her. But yeah... recently her Bubbiosity videos have taken a nose dive down the borderline porn path (hence last video... making out in front of the lift... wth?). Now I just think... you serious?

I am about the same age she is, and its not as if I am very conservative as an Asian, but its just inappropriate. I always hated humour that has to do with sex that is shared in public... like, say, on a bus where everyone heard (happened to me before), and seeing a girl doing something like that made me want to poke my eyes out.

Also, that Shimmy/Chonny in a room in LA thing has just taken the weirdness up one more level for me. I am surprised that she and Timothy actually got back together, because if I find out my bf has slept with 2 other girls in one room I would castrate him with a blunt axe, and I would break up with him immediately, no questions asked. If she takes herself or her own public image seriously, she should avoid getting into situations like that. Should really realise that once you are not anonymous any more you should be careful about what you do and what you say, because its not just friends and small groups of haters looking at/judging you any more, its a whole lot more people.

I used to go YAY! when I see her post a new video, now I go MEH when I see a new video. To be fair though, her recent dark circle tutorial was pretty good, and if her make up tutorial can be more varied like her hair tutorial, it would be better...

agreed. I don't give two shits if she went to a porn show. but then again I'm 21 years old, not a teenage fan.

I find it funny that people have brought up that she isn't behaving like a good role model for young girls. I mean, what age group are we talking about here? As far as I can recall (I could be wrong), Bubz has never professed to cater to young girls. "Young girls" shouldn't even be watching YT videos and doing makeup anyway. Perhaps you mean the age bracket that are in high school? In which case, I'd have to point out that these girls are beyond being impressionable enough to follow role models that they haven't found for themselves...and girls at that age will find whatever they want to find. I guess, for me, it just comes down to the fact that Bubz is just a YouTube beauty guru. She sits at home and makes videos on a topics that interest her. It's her prerogative to project whatever she wants about herself. She`s not a role model, just a chick who does makeup on youtube. no one looks up to her in terms of lifestyle, and most young girls look up to famous people.. or their peers.

We're talking about Bubz here, not Miss Phan. There's no comparison, really. (Also, I've never said anything bad about Michelle, either.) What's right or wrong when it comes to trashing someone is right or wrong regardless of who we're talking about, anyhow. So, just because people have trashed on Michelle doesn't mean it's okay to trash on Lindy or vice versa.

She's 23 year-old. She's a mature sexual female. Who the heck are we to judge her regarding this?
I'd actually be worried if she doesn't have any interest in sex at this age. She's not a frigging nun for god's sake.
As for her comedy channel, the stuff is actually quite tame compared to most comedy channels on Youtube. Do you people even watch comedy? Her sense of humor is a bit crude, but so is most comedies these days. They are at the very most PG-13. Have you ever seen a HK film? Most of her stuffs are a tamer version of a typical Hong Kong comedy.
It's not like China is a country of PURITANS for god's sake. There are worse things on Chinese TV. And she's in the UK and HK, not in the mainland anyway.
As for how often she mentions her Asian heritage, again, do you people even watch other comedies on youtube? She's Asian, of course she'll mention it.
I don't judge MP's private life and I don't judge Bubz's private life. These are simply not anyone else's business. If she sucks at applying make up, I'll judge. If she tried to bully someone, I'll judge. But if she posts some random comments on porn, who are we to judge?
