The SHAYTARDS

I think this family is living life on their terms. From what I understand he was radio jock. Having spent 7 years on a morning show as a single mom with a toddler, I know what effect that can have on the little ones. They have mommie and daddy at home with them, and he is able to support them quite well. Why fault them for that. I would love to get paid to make videos daily and stay home with my family, sadly I think people would be bored to tears watching me and my brood. Anyway... I watch, I rate.. I comment. I think supporting a man who is thinking outside the box to make a comfortable living for his family is commendable. I wish more men did that.

I love watching the shaytards. I think them making a living off you tube is cool, but I don't think it's going to last forever. But hey, it's easy money for them, and they enjoy what they do. I enjoy watching them. My only concern in the kids names (baby tard, princess tard, son tard, rock tard.) Like Shay can't hide their names forever (although what he is doing is smart by giving them nicknames), but when babytard is 17 I don't think she is going to enjoy being called that lol.

I just hope he's saving his money! And that he has college funds put aside for his kids! Cause YT ain't gonna last forever!

I think it's so interesting and pathetic at the same time that all the Youtubers think just because they are getting paid for videos it's a job that will last forever... it won't. Youtube doesn't offer medical benefits, a retirement fund.

People like Lisa El & pixiwoo, lollipop actually have jobs outside their youtube accounts... but people like dulcecandy and the shaytards actually DEPEND on Youtube for their income and THEY HAVE CHILDREN. I couldn't risk that idiotic behavior if i had kids...

But I just think it's a little idiotic to depend off youtube for a living. Like, it's not guaranteed you know?? I wonder what the shaytards would do if they just didn't have YouTube anymore..

I love the shaytards. Shay's kids are so freakin' adorable and that is the main reason why I watch their vids.

That was my first question when they bought their new house. They are doing great with YouTube for now, but how would they afford it if things suddenly fell through?

I used to like watching them, but he kind of gets on my last nerve now. I think his loud noises and stupid act is annoying. It's like he's trying way too hard. His kids are way too cute though! I love watching the son break out into his dance moves.

I totally agree. I wouldn't want my entire family's security to rest on the assumption that money from google and youtube will last forever. I hope they're saving it up. They're kids are adorable but the constant talk on how gorgeous they insist katilette is and Shay's loud and crazy crap just irritates me. Don't get me wrong, she's cute but she's not AHHMAYYYZING like the fans in the comments make her out to be. I agree that Shay is trying too hard. Just not very funny anymore when he's loud and crazy...

THANK YOU! AMEN TO THAT! lol I thought I was the only one who thought it was a bit insane who much all their fans go ON and ON about how stunningly beautiful Katilette is. Um...she's not! She's cute...and sometimes even pretty but that's about it. Even Carly who I used to think was really pretty is actually pretty skanky and not very hot if you take away the bleached hair/extensions and makeup and fake tan.

I do think they're saving some of the money they're making for their kids in the future, so I don't think they'd be desolate if YouTube or Google suddenly fell through. Shay does sometimes grate my nerves, especially when the whole vlog is just him, so I generally just skip through those parts I do admire their parenting, and although we obviously only see the good bits, they seem like a really happy family, which you can't knock them for.

I just hope the kids don't grow up with a superiority complex

idk this is the first time i looked at the site.. but in reply to one comment, THEY ARE NOT SPOILED! there were EIGHT kids there, not all those presents for four kids, EIGHT, E-I-G-H-T. they are NOT FREAKING SPOILED, they are the sweetest family i have ever come across and their kids may grow up to think a little big of themselves but im sure once they start showing signs of it Katilette and Shay will talk to them about it, they are the sweetest kids and im appalled to see people saying that about a family, i mean really think about if those comment were directed at YOUR family. they are a family with adorable funny kids, a loving mother and father and grandparents and aunts and uncles. nothing more

Lately what upsets me and that i kind of noticed, is Shay. He is like that one person who like the center of attention. When he goes to LA i don't watch cause i don't care what he is up too. He seems selfish like when he kept saying they were getting new t shirts and stuff i was so excited to possibly get a shaytards shirt...but um no they were shaycarl crap wth? i think there was one thing that said shaytards but with PDP on it, it was ugly and plain looking. Maybe they don't want their family on shirts or something but they could have come up with something creative.

Apparently Shay is going to be on a sitcom, now? I'm actually really happy about that. Considering Community has already picked up the guy that plays Troy, this will really start to open doors for other YouTubers to be discovered.

Personally, I don't think he deserves it. I can think of 100 other people more funny and more deserving. But whatever!

I believe he only got a small role for one episode, from what it sounded like.. he said he had like 4 lines? I could be wrong, though. But I'm definitely glad he got the part.

Well, seeing how he AUDITIONED for it and the casting directors chose him, fair and square, I don't see how you could say that he didn't "deserve" it. Besides, it's only a small role. Not anything to get your panties in a twist over.

LolaJude, calm down. You're seriously the only one I see getting "Their panties in a bunch" over Shaycarl Tonks is allowed to be happy he has a sitcom and you're allowed to think otherwise. But throwing piss-fits aren't fun at all.

Just wanna say that whatever income they're making off youtube vids should be shared EQUALLY with the kids since they're such a big part of the "show". And not just for lame college funds either. Kids on TV are not allowed "on set" for too many hours. I think babies just 15 min.

I don't like their acronym "PDeffinP". It doesn't actually say the F word, but you do THINK it, so it's sorta like cussing just not outloud.

I wouldn't assume that the entirety of their income is dependent on youtube. They might have investments that we don't know about, it would be a lot smarter for them to not talk about those things if they do. And before youtube he had to be doing something. They're adults, so why not just give them the benefit of the doubt that they have some idea of what they're doing?

I also don't know why there's an assumption that they won't provide for their kids. The kids aren't child actors, they're not doing work, they're being filmed having fun. I'm far from pitying his children, they always look like they have great, loving parents who actually spend time with them.

And what is the fascination with "internet perverts" - that whole thing has been really overblown fear-mongering. Do you really think perverts who are turned on by children would tune in to a shaytard video instead of scammin a playground or seeking actual child porn out on the internet? I'll seriously never understand why people assume child's picture on the internet = some pedophile jackin off to it. If that's where your mind goes, that probably says more about you.

No, they're not actors, which is sort of a shame because they don't have a choice whether they're filmed or not. And they're EXPECTED to smile and have fun when the camera is on or at least do something to entertain the thousands of subscribers. Also it was admitted at vidcon that the majority of the family income comes from youtube. If we were watching home movies it would be different. Everything changed when uploading a video = putting food on the table and clothes on their backs and a roof over their head. I wonder if Shay could continue the vlog alone?

You can't really say that they're expected to smile.
I've seen those kids throw some MAJOR tantrums. That being said, if you have a kid of your own, you'd know how much they like to "ham it up" for the camera. My son BEGS to be on video.
Also, I'm sure Shay could continue the vlog on his own, but considering he has a family, why would he?
