I posted this in the general topic but feel like it deserved a topic of its own.

Whats up my man; so to make this quick. Me and Ricebunny (aka Michelle Phan) are about to launch a gaming channel on YouTube. Not sure if you’ve heard of her but shes pretty much the #1 Guru on YouTube for Makeup but shes also a huge gamer. I’m putting together a dream team on the music end and would def love Blu to in that circle. Pretty much the same standard as the PAX video but I will be showcasing the bests in the background through the majority of the videos and full frame credit title page with a link back to you guys’ youtube page.
Michelle is about 2 or 3 thousand people away from having a million subscribers so once we launch this new channel, there are going to a boom in new viewers considering editors at YouTube know about the upcoming channel. Pretty much the same thing I mentioned that I planned to do… keep using Blu’s beats whenever they were appropriate but as of recent developments, wanted to prepare you guys for a massive spike in potential traffic

It seems like she's collaborating with some guy(s) to make music for her new gaming channel? I really hope this isn't true. It seems like YT already knows about its development.

You have GOT to be kidding me. SHE is the reason female gamers are so disrespected. It seems like all she plays is Final Fantasy, and that DEFINITELY doesn't make you a gamer! Not saying that Final Fantasy is bad or anything, since I'm a big fan of the franchise, but it seems that that's all these "female gamers" play. No Halo, no Call of Duty, no Assassin's Creed or Borderlands, just Final Fantasy because of the fucking kawaii cuteness and love stories and BLAH!

And no Michelle, you don't carry a controller around in your purse. If you do, you're a fucking idiot. A PSP or a DS would make more sense, but a CONTROLLER? Really? REALLY?! Gah...

I'm really starting to hate this bitch, everything about her just reeks of fake. And she's been talking about this gaming channel for like, a year, so let's all pray to some type of deity that she doesn't follow through with it!

I just would like to make one point before I go on about Phan that one should not categorize what a gamer is by what they play. Final Fantasy is a game too and just because one doesn't find it cute or 'gaming' one still should not disrespect it. Each to their own.

Now about Phanny being a gaming girl. Oh hell no. My evaluation for this is because she 'claims' to play games and if she does she should still talk about it i.e. at least share with her fans her gaming id or something. And while I did say one should not categorize specific games to whether or not you are a gamer, I do believe that a couple of games... UNFINISHED (which I'm sure they are cause she's 'busy') should not qualify you as a gamer - especially if you're RPG.... And a real gamer should be good in games, whatever games. Even if its something he, she it may not like. AND a real gamer should have pride and time available to spend time playing +_+.


One thing I do have to wonder about is... what kind of games do these boys play and how can she be included?

Don't get me wrong. I love FF. What frustrates me is how much Michelle seems to unnecessarily whore out her love for FF and use it as a way to put herself up on a pedestal. "MY MAKEUP WAS INSPIRED BY FF, MY CLOTHES WERE INSPIRED BY FF, I WANNA SEE AURORAS CUZ ITS THE CLOSEST I CAN GET TO FF" Sounds like she's trying too hard.

Only game she knows is FF LOL. I love FF, im a fan of it. And I'm a gamer too. I like many kind of games. (I even played World Of Warcraft but I have school now i dont play much) She didnt play much games and the ones she played, she didnt finish. Normal gamers dont brag about how theyre good at it. Michelle brags even she is not good at it. xD

The only way that could happen is if she lied. It's not that hard; zoom in on Michelle "playing" and then zoom in on the screen of someone with actual skills playing and her minions will believe it. But then again, it would be way too easy to call her out.

How on earth would she go about making a gamer-related channel? This gaming channel will have to have more depth than just good editing, like on her makeup tutorials. The good youtube gaming channels are great because the owners of those channels have personality and are knowledgable. Michelle has no personality and her expertise doesn't branch outside FF/square enix. She'll probably do something truly stupid (but considered innovative to her stupid fans)-- like tie it with makeup/costume/iqqu.

Whether this gaming channel is in the works or not, I wouldn't want Michelle to be part of it. This girl can't make up her mind! She wanted to be a dermatologist, fashion designer, gaming illustrator, etc. Now she wants to branch out into the gaming community. Umm honey, no. Make up your mind, you're 23 for heaven's sake!

That explains her interest in cosplay costumes out of nowhere.

I'm a BIG BIG FF fan myself. I hate it when Michelle uses the name FF for creating a false image of herself. 'Cute' asian female gamer... GAG! Trying to get the gamers attention and shit. If you were a real gamer, you would play other games too.

I have been gaming since I was 7 and from my own experience I can say that Final Fantasy is NOT a tough RPG to complete. Give MP one of the Dragon Quest titles (tougher than FF) or Dungeon Master, she will be tweeting to pay someone to finish the game for her.

No worries about your engilsh skills. It's fine as long as we understand and I do anyway. And as you all have said about the FF I totally agree with you. I've been a FF fan since I was 3 watching my older cousin play it and from the moment I was allowed to play (FF7) I was a fan but I didn't just play FF I broadened my mind~~

On a really random note... I'm kinda glad that its this offer instead of working with Square Enix cause if SE hires her.. I will raise hell.

So do millions of girls out there, except they don't go around calling themselves a "tomboy with style". MP's definition of a hardcore gamer is by popping the game in the console and let it play for 3 minutes before turning it off.

like you ladies, Ive had over a decade of gaming under my belt and can tell the difference between "girl gamer" and "gamer girl"

one plays games religiously, never brags about it and can hold her own against the boys. a friend of mine has beaten god tier gamers down at tournaments and never once brags that she can (girl gamer)

the other, has played a couple of games, never finishes them and uses basic names like "ryu", "solid snake" and "squall" to appear like they know what their talking about to impress guys. (gamer girl)

i just want to add, its bad enough girls pretend to be lesbians to get guys, now girls pretend to be gamers. its appalling that people like her are allowed to run their mouth and give real players a bad name.

oh and I'm addicted to this site, you girls do a wonderful job here. keep spreading the good word.

I know she likes Call of Duty too because on that 'Last Xmas...' video some guy wrote something like "CoD is a generic game, it doesn't mean you're a real gamer" and she replied "I know more about video games than a guy could imagine" (these are not the exact words, but you get the idea).

lol she has a pathetic trophy list for her PS3. I bet she's not even a quarter done with FF13.

Also, I remember seeing her blog entry of her playing WoW. I no longer play, but back during the Burning Crusade, I was a maxed level priest and in the top Alliance guild of my server. Seeing her screenshot, I can say she was no where near even level 60, and she boasts how much of a gamer she is. I bet she played for a month, got to level 30 and quit. Sigh, she's rather annoying :/

"I know more about video games than a guy could imagine" - she's so full of it. it's just as she knows more about skincare than a working dermatologist by talking about DNA repair and putting estrogen in her IQQU products on blogtv. she only talks about video games because it gives her the excuse to whore herself in those cosplay outfits.
